This artwork is inspired by the traditional architectural colours of the Joseon Dynasty, reimagined through a contemporary minimalist approach. I wanted to bring the beauty and character of Korean heritage into a modern visual language, using colour, proportion, and simplicity to create a sense of harmony between tradition and contemporary life.
Each colour has its own meaning and was carefully selected and balanced to reflect my personal journey of identity and self-discovery. The work represents my search for sophistication, craftsmanship, and a deeper connection with nature, while respecting the cultural heritage that inspired it. As one of 11 paintings in the series, this piece explores how traditional Korean aesthetics can be transformed into a personal and contemporary expression.
