Our Studio

Our studio is rooted in the quiet power of heritage, reinterpreting traditional design through the clarity and restraint of modernism. We are drawn to time-honored forms, techniques, and materials, not to replicate the past, but to engage in a dialogue with it.

At the heart of our practice is an appreciation for art as a language of culture, emotion, and expression. We approach each object not simply as a functional piece, but as a form of artistic composition—considering proportion, material, texture, light, and space with the same sensitivity one might bring to a work of art. Each creation carries echoes of tradition, reimagined through a contemporary lens.

Through a thoughtful balance of craft, art, and concept, we create pieces that feel both familiar and new. Our work is minimalist in expression, yet layered with cultural memory, artistic intention, and meaning. We are interested in the quiet details—the trace of the hand, the character of a material, the rhythm of a form, and the space an object creates around itself.

Guided by a deep respect for design history and a curiosity for its future, we explore the space where art, craft, and design converge. Our aim is to create objects that transcend function: pieces with presence, character, and a sense of permanence—objects that belong to their time while carrying a lasting connection to the past.

Jae Lee

The studio was founded by Jae Lee, a designer and founder of Studio Jae Lee, an interior and spatial design studio and consultancy. Born from a desire to explore and reinterpret heritage design in a modern context, Jae’s work is rooted in both traditional craft and contemporary aesthetics.

He sees design as a form of storytelling—one that bridges memory, identity, and function through space and object. His practice is equally informed by an appreciation of art, approaching each project as an opportunity to explore composition, material, form, and atmosphere. Objects and spaces are considered not only for their function, but for their ability to evoke emotion, create presence, and communicate a sense of place.

Guided by a deep respect for cultural heritage and a curiosity for its evolution, his creative process blends research, intuition, artistic expression, and hands-on experimentation. Drawing from personal heritage and a global perspective, Jae explores the space between art, craft, and design, seeking to transform familiar references into something personal and contemporary.

His work embraces restraint while allowing room for texture, imperfection, and quiet expression. Each piece is conceived as part of a larger visual and cultural narrative—where materials carry memory, forms become gestures, and spaces become immersive experiences.

As founder, he is committed to shaping spatial and object-based experiences that honor the past while offering new, thoughtful ways of seeing and living in the present. Through this intersection of art, craft, and design, Jae seeks to create work that feels timeless, considered, and quietly expressive.
